Waima's Narrative

SNOW WHITE

On a sunny Wednesday morning in 1973 Snow White the evil queen had bought a handsome taniwha huntsman who would hunt the old evil queen who was now the good queen named Eve but eventually they failed.

“I’m sorry I failed Snow White” said the taniwha huntsman “I need to kill the good queen Eve”. “Huntsman try again and bring me back her head” said Snow White. “Ok” said the huntsman.

The huntsman never wanted to do this job but his father forced him so the huntsman set off.

“I wonder what the evil queen is doing probably trying to kill me” said the good queen Eve. “I guess so” said a small little voice. It was a small villager her name was Vicky.

“Hello can you please come with me to pick some flax and make some flowers out of the flax but watch out for the taniwha huntsman” said Eve.

“Wow look at those poor flowers” said Vicky. “Poo what’s that smell” said Vicky again. “It smells like smoke said Eve. And out of nowhere there was a dim and dark shadow.  “What’s that” said Vicky. “ROORH” said the shadow in fact it was a humongous taniwha huntsman.

“Kia ora the evil queen Snow White sent me here to kill you” said the huntsman. “Why” said Eve. “Don’t know” said the huntsman. “Can you please help me” said Eve. “No” said the huntsman. “I have candy and puha” said Eve. “Ok” said the huntsman “but can I have some kumara and toitoi for my cave”  “alright” said Eve.

“WHERE’S HER HEAD!!!!!” cried the evil queen, “sorry but I brought back some candy and puha also kumara and toitoi can I get a high five” said the huntsman. “NO! Get back to work” said Snow White. “Saddo where does an awesome man get some respect around here” said the huntsman. “Ahh” said Snow White. “Release the army” said Snow White. “ stop rushing” BOOM CRASH BANG “poow what’s that smell” yelled everyone “did you really have to do that while we were in war” “sorry” said one of the men “hurry up and get on to it” said Snow White “yes some men are down” said Snow White but eventually someone shot Snow White.

Now there was happiness through the town.

Cockroach Report by Waima

The Amazing Cockroach.                      

Cockroaches are amazing creatures.

Cockroaches can sometimes live in your homes because some people’s homes can be nice and warm. Some cockroaches live in the rainforest. Cockroaches can fit in cracks in side of your homes. Cockroaches live all over the world.

Cockroaches eat almost everything. They can eat rotten food or your garbage yuck. They can even eat jam sandwiches.

Their antennae smell food and other stuff. They are mostly brown. Some are brightly coloured if they live in the rainforest.  They have six legs.

When the babies are born they are white then turn brown. They can lay 300- to 400 eggs. Cockroaches spread diseases.

Cockroaches are fascinating insects.

The amazing Monarch butterfly 

The monarch butterfly has a little circle thing on top on top of its antenna.  They are orange and black.  It has a thorax which is its middle body part.

It sucks the nectar from the flower.  They eat nectar and suck the out of the flowers with its proboscis which is a tongue like a straw.

They lay eggs on a swan plant.  Males have to dots on their bottom wings and females don’t.  Monarch butterflies use their feet to taste.

The monarch butterflies live in Australia New Zealand America and Mexico.  They live near a place that is warm.  Monarch butterflies live for 6 months or more if they were born in autumn.

It is fun to learn about butterflies.

Butterflies are so cool and awesome.

The life cycle of a caterpillar

First the butterfly lays the egg.

The egg is white but it turns brown when it’s ready to hatch.

Next the caterpillar is so tiny that if you were drawing a caterpillar you would have to use a magnifying glass to even see the details in it and the true colour of it.

There are lots of different kinds of caterpillars such the white butterfly caterpillar that eats cabbage and the monarch caterpillar.

Before the caterpillar turns in to a chrysalis it eats lots.

Then when it’s big enough it will hang upside down and soon evolve into a chrysalis.

When the butterfly emerges from the chrysalis its wings are all wet and yucky.

It takes an hour for its wing to dry.

There all kinds of different butterflies.

ANZAC Landing

Soldiers from Australia and New Zealand died in World War 1 in ANZAC Cove on Z beach. 

On the 25th APRIL 1915 at 4:15am. New Zealand and Australia were just about to reach Z beach with a surprise attack. But then the moon went down and the Ottoman Army attacked first.

They shot and shot and shot. They fought in Turkey at a place called Gallipoli on Z beach but now it is called ANZAC Cove.

They fought for freedom for their countries.
