Once on a bad thundering day there lived three bears named Alix Baby Bear, Markus Daddy Bear and Lulu Mummy Bear. They lived in the forest.

A  boy named Goldin was playing until it rained he was too far from his home when saw an cottage and he knocked on the door. No one was there so he just went in .He could smell yummy fish so he went and sat down on a baby sized chair ‘’To small’’ he said to himself. He tried Mummy Bears seat ‘’I can feel the ground I need a chair that can’t touch the ground!’’He yelled like mad

.He went up stairs to the bears beds in a angry mood .He lay on Daddy’s bed. ’Too cold’ ’so he tried Baby Bear’s ‘’My feet come of the bottom ‘’I like this person’s house”.

He  went down stairs because his tummy was rumbling .He  ate baby bears fish. “Too small” So he ate Daddy’s Bear fish. “Too yuck” So he ate Mummy’s Bears fish “Just right.” His tummy roared like a bear and he said “I think I need more food ”

He was standing in a dark shadow.He turned around slowly and he looked up at  sharp angry teeth! He looked at two big bold eyeS!He ran up stairs  with three bears chasing after him.He  hid under the beds he coluld see their feet .He thought and he said ‘Oh no bears can smell me!”Suddenly baby bear looked under the bed.

Goldin  ran out of the house back to the woods. In his home he said “If there is a house that is not locked run away”he said to his mum.

The big trip to Butterfly Creek

On Wednesday 30 May 2012 Rm 16,20,13,12 went on a trip to Butterfly Creek so we could learn more about beetles, bugs and butterflies.

First we went inside and sat down and a man came to speak about bugs. We asked what colour blood does a weta have and it was light green. Then we went to go have a look at the big long crocodiles. Two people went inside with the crocodiles and they were trying to get it in the water by being mean to it .It was scary. Then we looked at some posters.

Next we went to look at the fantastic butterflies flying around .It was hot inside because it needs to be warm. One landed on me and it felt like I was floating!

Last we went on the train. We saw a eel by the first pole and it was there the whole time when we went around. We saw a bum on a tree trunk that was fun!

This was the best trip ever!

Incredible cockroaches

Cockroaches can live about a week with out a head and most can fly but not all.

Cockroaches live in cracks and they live in dark, warm and dry places like your home. They live all over the world.

Cockroaches are small they have 6 legs and their body is flat. They have wings on the back of them and antennae for smelling. They are brightly coloured when they live in the rainforest but they are normally brown.

Cockroaches eat paper, garbage, glue, jam sandwiches and almost anything. They come out and eat at night.

Cockroaches can live for one year. They can live without their heads. They have holes on the side of its body to breath.

Cockroaches are incredible.

Monarch Butterflies

Monarch butterflies are a bright coloured butterfly and they are an insect that has orange wing with black and white dots.

Monarch butterflies live in New Zealand and in winter they leave to go somewhere warm. A butterfly has big bright wings and they have white dots on their bodies.

Monarch butterflies have a big curly tongue called a proboscis to eat with. It can taste with its feet. It eats nectar and the baby caterpillars eat swan plants.

  Monarch butterflies are poisonous .Lavae means two or more caterpillars. Lava means one caterpillar.

They are interesting insects.

I am writing to you about your wonderful books. I love reading your books because they are funny and have a lot of exciting chapters. I am 9 years old. My favourite book is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory because I love the names and the people that are in it I like playing on farms and I like Roald Dahl books.

The Triangles maths group made some interesting patterns with the pegboards during construction time.

The Full House

On Saturday my cousins and aunties and uncles came to me and Logan’s house for a swim.

First we went to feed the animals. Then we went to go play with the dogs and we were hiding in the tent with them because the people came. A person was hiding by the tent and I stuck my head out and they jumped out it was scary! Then we went for another swim.

Next we ate a lot of chocolate and chocolate cookies too. Then we went for another long swim.

Last we went for a ride to pat the horses and then we went to go in the tent to play mad dog with our dog Marley. He bit my friends t-shirt and her pants and I kept on falling down laughing and I could not breathe. My family stayed for another night and the cars went broom on the second day as we waved goodbye.

They were amazing fun days.
