12/12/12 12:12 Party!

We had a great time today at our 12/12/12 party!

We played a fun 12/12/12 board game, where we had to do activities if we landed on a polar bear like name 12 of our favourite foods or say an addition question when the answer is 12.

We had to complete a 12/12/12 word search and see how many times we could find the word 'TWELVE' in the puzzle.

We played buzz with multiples of 12, and '21' but instead of having to sit down if you say "21" you had to sit down if you said "12".

We learnt fun facts about the number 12.

We played cool maths games when we had to find factors of 12 and number pairs that add to 12.
(Here are the links) Number Bonds 12   Math Lines 12

We counted down to 12:12 and then we played our Secret Santa game, which was loads of fun.

We enjoyed a delicious shared lunch too.

Thank you families for supporting us to have such an amazing celebration day!

Diwali is the festival of light in India,
On the first day of Diwali people make Rangoli patterns; Rangoli is a pattern to welcome people into their home.
On the second day of Diwali, people tell stories about Diwali like when Ram rescued Sita, people enjoy learning about Diwali.
On the third day of Diwali people set off sparkly fireworks at night they are extreme fun for many Indians
On the fourth day of Diwali it is New Year’s Day people celebrate by making yummy sweets and food.
On the last day of Diwali it is Brothers and Sisters Day when brothers buy sisters gifts and sisters cook for brothers.

Chameleon Calendar Art

We made fantastic chameleons for our calendar art.

They are colourful and crazy.  The background is black because Madagascan chameleons give off a glow at night time!

They are some of the best pieces of art work we have ever made!

They will be for sale as calendars, diaries and greeting cards.  More details to come.

You can also view the art in our classroom.

Road signs around the school

We went for a walk around our school to look at the road signs that are around us. If you ride your bike on the road you must obey these signs. We are going to make our own road signs for kids on bikes to follow.

Hide and Seek

WALT - Find out which colours we should wear so that we can be seen easily when we cycle.

WALT find out which colour clothing to wear when we cycle

These are the people that were hiding and we were finding because we were trying to find the right clothes to wear when we ride bikes so that cars can see us easily. We found out that a fluro vest, light blue and white are the best colours to wear.
