Bake Sale

Did you watch Close Up on Wednesday night? One of our families was featured sharing their story to raise funds for Starship Hospital.

In the holidays Mum and Marioni have to travel to Dunedin for more treatment. Barfoot & Thompson are going to do a fundraiser to try and get Dad, Joe and Susana to go as well. They would like to do a cake stall next Thursday (last day of school) down in the township. Our school Jump Jam teams are going to go down to perform on the stage. Please show your support and head down to the town centre on Thursday and buy a cake or make a donation. It’s 9.30 – 11 am.

Plastic Bag Kites

Today Room 12 made plastic bag kites for our language experience. We had a great time running up and down the hill as you can see from these photos. We wrote recounts about our experience, these will be included in our portfolios as our writing samples. Crafternoon 2

Crafternoon 2 on PhotoPeach

Craftermorning

In the morning on Monday some of room 12  got to do crafting with some ladies called Liz. They came in to help us. We made cards for the summer carnival.

First we got to pick a colour of paper and put pop up stickers on them. I made three cards. I made a pop up butterfly on one of mine. Other people put owls and flowers on theirs.

Next some people got to do a card that looked really pretty. There was a machine and you chose a design and put it through and turned the handle. When you had finished it, the design was pressed on to the card

Lastly we got to decorate them.

Craftermorning

On Monday 5th of March Room 12 had a Craftermorning.  Two ladies who were both called Liz came in to help us.

First we made some book marks and some cards there were two groups, one made cards and the others made bookmarks.

Next we made some decorations for them and we got some coloured paper.

After we put the decorations on the book marks and the cards we punched out some owls, hearts, butterflies and lots of other stuff.

Then we swapped groups, the card people did some book marks and the bookmark people did some cards.

Last of all we made some more and we packed up.
